The full-time MBA programme at MMU Business School is designed for aspiring managers with at least three years’ management experience, mid-career specialists wishing to move into general management positions and senior managers who wish to refresh and hone their management knowledge and skills. Our AMBA-accredited MBA programme is designed to develop: A general management perspective that concentrates on issues that are pertinent to managers who need to take an organization-wide view. A range of problem-solving skills and to encourage the exploration of creative and novel approaches. The capacity to deal with complexity and ambiguity through the development of approaches to critical thinking. Special features of the programme include: Accredited by AMBA and Chartered Management Institute. One week overseas study tour at a prestigious University Business School and three-day Management Development weekend. Industrial visit and speaker programme designed in partnership with the students. Past visits have included Siemens, BNFL, Roberts Bakery, Jaguar and BAE Systems. All lectures, intranet access, teaching materials, trips, flights, hotels for residential and AMBA and Chartered. Management Institute memberships are included in the course fee. English language support. Guest speakers from several industries, visits to businesses and a week spent at an overseas Business School resulted in a well-rounded approach to study. Career Development Opportunities Whilst studying your MBA at the Business School you will have access to 1-2-1 careers advice and guidance including guidance interviews and CV/application advice and reviews. Our career management skills programme covers a range of topics, from CV and cover letter preparation to networking and business etiquette and case studies for MBA students. MBA students also have full access to ‘The Vault’ – an online careers library dedicated to your future development. Programme Content and Structure Stage 1 Contemporary issues in the International Environment Managing human Performance Financial Analysis and Management Managing Customer Value. Stage 2 Management for Business Excellence Elective. Stage 3 Strategic Management Change and Innovation Developing Professional Practice. Stage 4 Business Consultancy Projects or Dissertation Entry Requirements Students are expected to have a good honours degree or equivalent professional qualifications PLUS a minimum of three years management experience. Exceptional applicants who have substantial work experience but who lack the normal academic level qualifications will be considered for entry. Applicants whose first language is not English and whose degree was not taught in English are required to produce evidence of English Language proficiency to a minimum of TOEFL 575 (or 230 in Computer Based test), minimum 4.0 in written test, IELTS 6.5. Candidates are frequently interviewed and interviews often take place in their home country. GMAT is not normally required provided applicants meet the criteria listed above.
